Digital Culture Tip for the Beethoven Year!

In “Opus 2020 – Variations” the Austrian artist Dominik Nostitz deals with different opinions, memories & encounters around the person Beethoven. In a livestream from the rooms of the Hotel Beethoven in Vienna, he discusses with various personalities of the Viennese cultural world about their individual experiences, the importance of Beethoven in the 21st century and his lasting influence on art and culture. The different opinions and interpretations of and about Beethoven, transmitted in changing perspectives from the various rooms of the hotel, symbolize the diversity and richness of Beethoven’s personality and work. Musicians round off this view with musical contributions.
An excerpt of the live stream is an audiovisual work of art that is part of the German EU Council Presidency exhibition “Hotel Beethoven”, which can be seen at the BOZAR in Brussels until mid-January 2021.
The Austrian Cultural Forum Brussels presents the project in Brussels, which was commissioned by BOZAR and created with the support of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Public Service and Sport (BMKÖS).
