Carolina Schutti, born in Innsbruck in 1976, studied German and English literature, among other things, and earned her doctorate with a dissertation on Elias Canetti. In 2010 she published her debut “Wer getragen wird, braucht keine Schuhe,” which was nominated for the Rauriser Literaturpreis. In 2021 her novel “Der Himmel ist ein kleiner Kreis” will be published, with an excerpt from it she was nominated for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2020.
In Polish, Carolina Schutti’s novella “Eulen fliegen lautlos” (“Owls fly silently”), which won the Alois Vogel Literature Prize, has so far been published in translation by students at the Philological College in Wrocław. The online webinar organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw on 15.4.2021 will open with a reading from this work by the SchreibART AUSTRIA author. In the following discussion, Carolina Schutti will answer the questions of Germanist Joanna Jablkowska, Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics at the University of Lodz, as well as those of the Polish audience.
