The group exhibition “Fly Robin Fly” will take place from March 25, 2021 to June 6, 2021 at the “Mécènes du Sud in Montpellier-Sète. For this occasion, a dozen artists* will present different works around the figure of the castrato. At the beginning of their astonishing voice, there is a violent gesture: the emasculation. The loss of an organ is presented as the starting point for a new voice. Voice in the sense of singing, but also in the sense of rank in society. The history of the castrato was not infrequently marked by intrigue, and the amputation was used to create political and cultural fertility.
Flowing plasticity is also the he thereby exhibited works of the various artists*, in which the dissonant voices and the dizzying desires prevail and take possession of the spaces of Mécènes du Sud Montpellier.
The contribution is the film IRIS by Maria Lassnig, which is given a special place in this exhibition.
