On the initiative of the Warsaw Cultural Forum, a cooperation with the most widely read online cultural magazine in Poland, “Dwutygodnik”, has been established. The magazine is entitled “Diaries from the isolation” and contains nine texts by writers from Austria and Poland. The partner of the project is the Literaturhaus Graz, which publishes a further episode of “Corona Diaries” every Friday. Three of the entries – by Julya Rabinowich, Bettina Balàka and Daniel Wisser – were translated into Polish by the renowned Polish literary translator Sława Lisiecka on behalf of the Cultural Forum. So far, the Corona diaries by Julya Rabinowich have been published in “Dwutygodnik”. The other Austrian texts will follow by the end of June 2020.
These publications are also intended as a form of support for authors who are deprived of their source of income during the pandemic, as neither books are published nor readings held. The project is part of the celebration of the 55th anniversary of the Austrian Cultural Forum Warsaw and the literary programme “schreibART AUSTRIA” of the BMEIA.
