In the context of the French film festival “Festival des Cinémas différents”, which focuses on experimental filmmaking and this year will be held in digital form, Viennese filmmaker Björn Kämmerer presents his short film “TEAL“. The 5-minute film will be shown on October 15 at 18h30 in the livestream. In “TEAL”, mute and rotating at 25 frames per second, Kämmerer points his lens at a series of mirror plates in free fall. Their smooth, petroleum-colored backs are directed towards the camera as they fall through the image from top to bottom. Against a completely black background, the mirrors fall at rhythmic intervals and, in fits of syncopated destruction, crash hard against a surface.
