Austrian artist Alexandra Fruhstorfer, in collaboration with Filipino art professionals and Salzburg Global Seminar fellows Ralph Eya and Reymart Cerin, conducted a hybrid online creative workshop for 35 victims of human trafficking on August 18 and August 25, 2021, who are served by local NGO Voice of the Free and ECPAT Philippines. The “Photovoice Workshop” was one of the highlights of the workshop where victims were tasked to tell their story, express themselves and convey what they want to be in the future using their photos taken with Lomography instant cameras as well as their self-written haikus. The goal of the creative workshop was to empower victims and give them a lead in the fight against human trafficking by helping them discover a new sense of self through creative expression. The Embassy plans an online exhibition of the workshop results to reach a wider audience and raise awareness about human trafficking.
