Crisis can also be opportunity! And that’s exactly why the two Austrian authors Nika Pfeifer & Daniela Emminger recently launched ÜBER, a new literary magazine for a young, cosmopolitan audience. What Swiss bestselling author Lukas Bärfuss called a “glimpse into the future of books” inspired the daily Der Standard to dedicate a special feature to the magazine. After a successful start in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis with the episodes “BEGINNINGS” and “NOISE&POETRY”, the finale of the first season “ÜBER: HÖHEPÜNKT/CLIMAX” will be broadcast in English on July 23.
In cooperation with the Austrian Cultural Forum in Washington, D.C., this special episode focuses on U.S. authors* and features best-selling author Lily Brett, poet and performer Joe Wenderoth, and beat poetry legend Jack Hirshman, among others.
The special program will be introduced by Director Eva Schöfer and Director Michael Haider.
