The Art Encounters Foundation, an internationally renowned contemporary art platform based in Timisoara, will show a selection of the Miryam and Daniel Charim Collection and the Ovidiu Șandor Collection from June 17 to August 7 under the title “The Third Woman,” focusing on VALIE EXPORT’s early work. The Bucharest Cultural Forum is co-organizer of this show, put together by the curatorial team Ami Barak, Diana Marincu and Gia Țidorescu, which presents VALIE EXPORT’s oeuvre as well as exhibits by Viennese actionists Otto Muehl, Franz West or Rudolf Schwarzkogler. Works by contemporary Romanian artists such as Ana Lupaș, André Cadere, Geta Brătescu or Ion Grigorescu are set in relation to the selected works of the Viennese Actionists in “The Third Woman”, thus creating an arc of tension between Vienna and Timisoara.
