To mark the 20th anniversary of the Austrian Embassy Berlin building designed by Hans Hollein, our CINEMATHEK is all about “Everything is Architecture”. After “Liebe Geschichte,” the second Austrian film on our architecture focus will now be shown in a free online screening.
Even the title of Heidrun Holzfeind’s film about the Werkbundsiedlung in Vienna aims at the connections between forms and life. Architecture always tells a piece of human cultural history in the mirror of its architectural styles. If the gaze wanders into a living space in this respect, this narrative necessarily becomes personal. Thus it is not only life that challenges forms, but the same forms subsequently condition life in and with them.
