“From the wall from the narrative of Marlen Haushofer to the wall in today’s world!”
When, in the course of rehearsals for the stage premiere, a “wall” of stricter measures reduced life by many possibilities to which we – like the novel’s heroine – had become accustomed in the already quite limited pandemic world, the theater decided to transfer the production for the time being to the digital space of the Internet, in which we have recently all found ourselves as if under a glass bell.
Within two months, multimedia contributions will be published on a temporary website, with which almost the entire path from “The Wall” can be traced, in a different temporal dimension than in the theater.
The experiment does not want to convey the novel in its entirety, nor a single “true” interpretation. It is a collective attempt to evoke fragments from “The Wall” within our limited reality, so that the visitors also participate in it with their everyday lives.
