“NYC – THIS IS US” is a music video project by Austrian musicians* who artistically trace our world of physical and social distancing, changed by the pandemic, and set their experiences as cultural workers living in New York to music, first with a video, later with a music documentary.
The pieces, composed especially for video and film and played and recorded from their respective home studios, were presented as a music installation with a virtual “meet and greet” to the audience in a newly created virtual “open-air” stage – in front of the well-known ACFNY building near Fifth Avenue.
Developed by leading VR/XR companies in Austria, Germany and the U.S., this VR world created especially for ACFNY took the audience to another level and allowed participants* to be fully immersed in a new and unique experience. An insight into this virtual event can be gained via this link.
