EUNIC Warsaw, the cluster of national cultural institutes of EU member states in the Polish capital, strives to create links between culture and society. The international online conference IF – Social Design for Sustainable Cities, the flagship project of the Austrian Cultural Forum Warsaw as this year’s chair of the EUNIC Warsaw Cluster, will take place on 23 October. The conference will underline the added value of integrating culture and artistic creativity into the very important social debate on the sustainability of cities – specifically Sustainable Development Goal 11, which aims to make cities and settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
Gerald Bast, Rector and co-founder of the Social Design course at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, will, along with Rafał Trzaskowski, the Mayor of the City of Warsaw and Marek Prawda, the representative of the European Commission in Poland, deliver one of the keynotes of the online conference, which will be accompanied by an international exhibition and online workshops lasting several days. The project, which is also supported by EUNIC Global, involves no less than twelve members of the EUNIC Warsaw Cluster.
