The Music Route has become a traditional part of the Istanbul Music Festival. For its listeners, it is an excursion through the beautiful neighborhoods of Istanbul interwoven with music and history. But this year the Istanbul Music Festival takes us beyond the borders of the metropolis of millions. The parish of Lichtental in Vienna, also known as Schubertkirche, was chosen as the final stop on the route because Franz Schubert was baptized here and composed several works for the masses to be celebrated here. Selini Quartet will perform works by W. A. Mozart, A. Borodin and E. Schulhoff in this church.
The music festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), is available for the first time this year in its 48th edition as streaming worldwide. Thanks to the efforts of the Austrian Cultural Forum Istanbul and the financial support of the BMEIA, the participation of the NASOM-Ensemble Selini Quartet, even without a physical presence was guaranteed with a professional concert recording. Moreover, this concert can be made accessible to an even larger audience.
The ÖKF Istanbul can look back on years of close cooperation with İKSV. İKSV and the 48th Istanbul Music Festival express their thanks to the Schubert Church as host of this concert.
