On 13 May the ÖKF Budapest in cooperation with the Hungarian independent theatre PanoDrama started the new series “Piece by piece”.

Every Wednesday famous Hungarian actors read from the best plays by contemporary authors. Renowned stars of the world stage such as Elfriede Jelinek, Péter Esterházy or Béla Pintér are presented alternately with lesser-known but also award-winning playwrights such as Andrea Pass or Attila Lőrinczy in the weekly digital readings. Well-known Hungarian artists such as Piroska Molnár, Eszter Csákányi or Judit Pogány, but also actresses known on German-speaking stages such as Annamária Láng, Kata Pető or Anna Szandtner read in German and Hungarian.

The series began on 13 May with Péter Esterházy’s Rubens and the Non-Euclidean Women, read by Judit Pogány, and ends on the great poet’s death anniversary on 14 July with I am Yours, read by Piroska Molnár. The Hungarian texts are partly subtitled in German.

Editor and director: Anna Lengyel. Concept: Austrian Cultural Forum and PanoDrama.

The digital readings will be published on the Facebook page and the YouTube channel of the Austrian Cultural Forum.
