As a result of the extensive limitations for event and travel opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Austria’s International Cultural Policy (“Auslandskultur”) which is part of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA), has established new digital communication channels that are intended to offer alternatives for Austrian artists and cultural professionals as well as international audiences.
The aim and purpose of the platform austria kultur digital is to make the diverse range of digital events offered by the Austrian Cultural Forums abroad accessible to the public.
The focus of Austria’s International Cultural Policy efforts lies in the promotion of Austrian artists and scientists, as well as providing them an opportunity to network with partners abroad. To this end, possibilities for international collaboration are being explored, future cooperations developed, encounters enabled and bridges built.
With the aim of presenting Austria as a future-oriented country, Austria’s International Cultural Policy activities in the worldwide network of the Foreign Ministry focuses first and foremost on contemporary cultural and scientific creation.
