The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a member of the TRADUKI network, which uses the means of literature – books, translations, festivals, workshops and residence programs for authors and translators – to connect Southeast Europe with the German-speaking regions and its literary world. TRADUKI also connects South-Eastern European countries with each other.
However, TRADUKI is not only active in literary and cultural exchange: TRADUKI is also a civil society project with a European political dimension. It promotes dialogue between the countries of South-Eastern Europe and the German-speaking world as well as dialogue within South-Eastern Europe. What began as an experiment in 2008 now serves as a model for multilateral international cultural work and builds cross-border bridges in complex neighbourhoods.
Translators play an outstanding role in this dense network: their irreplaceable work as cultural communicators has given TRADUKI its name.
The TRADUKI network includes organizations and institutions from Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland as well as from all the countries of the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia) and from Albania, Bulgaria and Romania.
